The outer gilded frame is comprised of four pieces on an offset of another four pieces of wood, creating a wood construct that will keep its integrity throughout the ages. Various leaf can be applied on many colours of clay, with the most common being sterling silver, 23k gold, 12k white gold, 18k green leaf and non-tarnishing palladium leaf.
